The Emirates Association for Rare Diseases (EARD) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Basma Association to support individuals with genetic disorders in Dubai. The agreement was signed by Ms. Nafisa Tawfiq, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EARD, and Mr. Bandar Ali Al-Shehri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Basma Association, in the presence of Dr. Saeed Al-Muhyi and the members. This agreement aims to spread awareness about genetic disorders in both countries, exchange experiences and knowledge that serve the goals of the two associations, and contribute to activating the activities that are held during World Rare Disease Day through social media channels.

This agreement is the first of its kind with relevant non-governmental organizations in the Arabian Gulf region that devote their efforts to supporting patients. The signing took place on the sidelines of the first international conference of the Emirates Rare Diseases Society.
